An Introduction to Competing


For those who want to take their dancing more seriously, competitions are an ideal way to develop performing skills . If you enjoy performing and would like to be part of a team you will love the excitement of a competition day. Those who dance in competitions tend to improve faster as dancers and develop more confidence and performing skills to compliment their examination technique.

You may wish to join our Supadance Team or compete in IDTA Ballroom & Latin American competitions and then move on to the National ‘open’ dance circuit. Competitions are divided into Boy/Girl and Girl/Girl couples

Trio’s Festival Performances

Festivals

If you want to be a future performer Festival are a must to develop your stage craft. You can compete in Solo, Duos or Trios. Any pupils wishing to join the Theatre Festival Team must take at least two Theatre subjects one being Ballet.

Street

Join a Street Dance Crew and compete in National competitions in Crews, Solos or Duos. Our Crews and solo dancers have been winners the IDTA Nationwide National Street Dance championships. Street dance experience is necessary before joining a crew.
